Alan Ripley about Overleigh

This evening the Street Society heard from Alan Ripley about Overleigh.

Alan has been involved in education, and it showed. First, he was an excellent communicator and kept our attention throughout, as a good teacher keeps the attention of the class; and secondly, he homed in on the school building in Overleigh, giving us a good deal of fascinating information on the school that lived there between 1891 and 1922, and also about the Adult School (pronounced Dult School, or even Doubt School) that began in 1847.

Fortunately, Alan is going to work up his notes into a booklet, which we hope will be published about the end of the year.
