Harvest Festival - better late than never

The date of the Church of England Harvest Festival in Street is designed to ensure that 'all is' well and truly 'safely gathered in.'

In fact, it is taking place on 12th October.

The Mission Church and the Parish Church are joining for one big celebration, in the Parish Church at 10.30, followed by a light lunch in church.

In fact it doesn't really matter that the festival doesn't coincide with the local harvest, because we are not really a farming community. There are fine farm shops and butchers, yes, but we buy most of our food from the three supermarkets, and the food comes from far and near.

Allison is planning exciting things for the children to do as part of the all-age celebration, and the church choir is rehearsing a couple of traditional anthems, so there should be a rich mixture for everyone to share.
