Street Society AGM

Quite a good turnout for the AGM and Any Questions session with the Chairman of the Parish Council, Councillor Napper, Liz Leyshon of Strode Theatre, local historian and musician Muriel Mudie and artist and former Chair of the Chamber of Commerce Michael Cooper.

The questions ranged from the very general: What is the most significant change in Street in the last 50 years? (generally agreed that it was the loss of industry and its jobs), What would you like to see happen in Street? (Crispin Hall brought back to be the centre of the community, High Street pedestrianised) to the specific: What should be done with Merriman Park? (restore the bandstand, hold a design competition, move the War Memorial).
