Did I ever post a photo of the main heritage board?

If not, here it is. You will see it by the High Street entrance to Clarks Village, the wall next to Edinburgh Woollens (if that's the right name of the shop).

Street in wartime

Cllr Brian Perry shared a small part of his World War II memorabilia collection at the Street Society meeting held on Tuesady 28th October.
Society members were treated to an interesting evening looking at the many interesting objects Brian had brought, and listening to his talk, which put these items into context for them.
His anecdotes of life in Street in the war years brought back memories for some members and offered insightful glimpses for those too young to have been there.
Another nostalgic meeting, particularly for railway enthusiasts, is planned for Tuesday November 25th at 7.30 in Leigh Road Methodist Church Hall when there will be a slide show and talk about the Somerset and Dorset Railway. Entrance to this talk is free for members, non-members are asked to pay £2.
Non-members are always welcome to any Street Society monthly events, usually held on the 4th Tuesday of the month.
