New buildings in Street - well designed, I think

This afternoon was so sunny that it seemed the right thing to go and look for photogenic bits of Street. The housing development between Elmhurst Lane and the High Street has had time to settle down and lose its newness, and it really is quite attractive. Houses have been placed, and the designs varied, so as to give pleasant, varied views. A few of the three storey houses use traditional proportions, with windows smaller than in most modern houses. The general impression is of a well-established housing area, with a little influence from Poundbury.

If Street has to have a lot of new housing, then let it be as sympathetically designed as this.
