Those new traffic lights

The local paper carries complaints about the new traffic control system at West End. Someone is quoted as saying that

I watched 12 near misses yesterday.People keep jumping the lights because they are not paying attention to the fact that the different lanes are filter controlled.

I can well understand that. Maybe the powers that be will have to put 'blinkers' on the lights so that drivers can see only the lights that apply to their lane.

Having said that, I've kept a note of how long I personally have been kept waiting at those lights, and it's been 15 seconds max. Perhaps I've just been lucky...
